Starting 2026 with a BANG.
After seven years of leading Texas in artist-business education, San Antonio Street Art Initiative’s BRICK by BRICK Program is proud to announce a landmark partnership with the San Antonio SPURS and the Frost Bank Center. Beginning January 2026, top-performing program graduates will be selected for an elite, resume-building opportunity: creating and exhibiting original mural work at the Frost Bank Center. This global stage will showcase our artists to visitors from around the world, elevating their professional profiles and cementing BRICK by BRICK as a proven pipeline for career-ready artists. This partnership reflects the SPURS’ recognition of our program’s impact and reinforces our shared commitment to empowering artists with real-world success.
"Out of Order"
“Out of Order is a study in rhythm, disruption, and intentional imbalance. The piece takes its name from the way its color blocks initially appear to break sequence, challenging the viewer’s expectation of symmetry and structure. At first glance, the arrangement feels misaligned—almost as if something has shifted out of place. Yet upon closer observation, the irregularity reveals itself not as error but as design. The disruption becomes the structure.
Influenced by street art traditions, the piece carries the immediacy and vibrancy of mural culture while incorporating Montana’s signature use of floral arrangements. These floral forms soften the geometric disruptions, creating a tension between organic growth and constructed structure. The flowers appear to bloom from the breaks in order, suggesting that beauty and vitality often emerge from disruption.
Through this interplay of color, pattern, and intentional misalignment, Out of Order becomes an exploration of how disorder can create its own rhythm. The work invites viewers to reconsider their assumptions about balance and control, revealing that what appears out of sequence may in fact be part of a larger, carefully composed system.”
